Privacy Policy
Bytecode Creation ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application, GPS Map Camera Pro, collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application. By using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Overview & Prominent Disclosure
GPS Map Camera Pro is an offline-first application. We have designed this application with privacy as a fundamental principle. We do not collect, transmit, share, or store your personal data, media, or location on any external servers. All processing occurs strictly locally on your mobile device.
Google Play Prominent Disclosure:
GPS Map Camera Pro collects and uses your Location data (Approximate and Precise), Camera, and Microphone exclusively to provide core app functionality (stamping geographic coordinates and recording media). This data is accessed only when the app is in use and is never collected in the background. The collected data is saved locally to your device's media gallery and is never shared, sold, or uploaded to third-party servers.
2. Permissions and Information We Collect
In order to provide the core functionality of GPS Map Camera Pro, our app requires access to certain device features. When you install and use the app, we request the following permissions:
A. Location Data (Approximate and Precise)
- What we collect: We access your device's GPS and network location hardware to retrieve exact latitude, longitude, and altitude coordinates.
- Why we need it: This is the core purpose of the app. The location data is used immediately to render a visual geographical stamp directly onto the photos and videos you capture.
- Storage: Location data is temporarily held in memory while the camera is active and is permanently embedded into the metadata (EXIF) and visible watermark of your saved media.
B. Camera & Photos
- What we collect: We access your device's camera hardware.
- Why we need it: To allow you to capture photographs and record videos within the app, onto which the geographical stamps are applied.
- Storage: All captured photos and videos are saved directly and exclusively to your device's local media gallery.
C. Microphone (Audio)
- What we collect: We access your device's microphone.
- Why we need it: Microphone access is required only when you choose to record a video, to ensure audio is captured alongside the video track.
D. Device Sensors
- What we collect: Data from your device's internal sensors (magnetometer, barometer).
- Why we need it: To accurately stamp compass headings, magnetic field strength, and atmospheric pressure onto your media.
3. Third-Party Services
While we do not transmit your data to our own servers, the app utilizes native mobile operating system APIs and the following specific third-party services to function:
- Geocoding APIs (Apple/Google): To translate raw GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) into readable street addresses, your device may send coordinate data to Apple or Google's native geocoding services, subject to their respective privacy policies.
- OpenWeatherMap API: If you enable the live weather stamp, the app sends your current coordinates to OpenWeatherMap to retrieve local temperature and weather conditions.
4. Data Sharing and Transmission
We do NOT share your data. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information or media to outside parties. Because your media is saved locally on your device, we have zero access to it.
5. Data Retention and Security
Because no data is transmitted to or stored on external servers managed by us, you retain 100% ownership and control over your media and location history. You can permanently delete your photos, videos, and associated location data at any time by removing them from your device's local gallery or by uninstalling the application.
6. Children's Privacy
Our application is intended for general audiences and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
